The Kids Count Abused Children’s Program is a program operated by the Red Wing Area Coalition for Transitional Housing. It is a youth advocacy program that provides safety and support to youth ages 0-18 that have been abused or witnessed violence. Children (and their families) in Goodhue County and surrounding counties who have experienced neglect, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, or who have witnessed domestic abuse within the home are welcome to participate in the program. The goal is to help youth affected by abuse through direct support and community education and awareness. Over 80 percent of the youth involved in the program are from the community, while the remaining 20 percent of youth are participants referred through our domestic violence shelter.

The Creative Kids at ArtReach is a program that offers children from chaotic, stressful lifestyles an opportunity to release pent-up emotions and express them in a positive and appropriate manner through art. Art is an excellent vehicle for releasing stress, developing problem solving, planning, and organizational skills, and enhancing social skills.
