Cradle My Head video |
Cradle My Head is about doing your best with what you
have and living up to your full potential. Most importantly,
it’s about never giving up, because you never know what
will come your way and when it will happen. Although I have
mainly focused on alternative, black and white, and digital
photography in the past, this video project stems from being
unable to fully convey the intensity of my seizure experiences
with still images. Initially, my project was about wanting to
show others how I see the world when I seize, and in turn, also
seeing myself as others see me when it happens. It was extraordinary
seeing it for the first time through the eyes of a spectator,
but I realized that sequential shots can only convey so much
about this experience. Video helped me add a temporal dimension
to my work, and it also enabled me to incorporate audio, a facet
that has greatly enhanced its emotional charge and stark reality. |
