Art of Recovery

Rhonda Barnes

Abuse is a very deep scar that stays in our hearts and souls forever.
Abuse is like the color in the world when you are abused it all just seems black and white.
Abuse is like the sun, there is no warmth and love when you are being abused.
Abuse is like the smell of the earth after a rain in the spring, but their is none.
Abuse is like a hug, the warmth caring feeling, you never know.

Abuse affects all of our world, more that most wish to know. When you are abused your world is very cold and dark. You feel like no one cares, and very alone. With all the abuse in the world I hope that soon people will start to recognize the damage that it has done. I believe that the abuse is causing the Meth and drug increase. For I know myself that when you feel unloved and alone, and you have no self esteem you reach for whatever you can. It seems to me that in this society, alcohol, drugs, prostitution, all bad things are easier attainable than the good. I believe that if this continues our country will only grow much colder, black and white, and unsouled.
