As a survivor of child sexual abuse and date rape, art has played a crucial role in my recovery, growth, and healing. Art for me is more than choice or mere luxury; it is an absolute necessity, no less than the need to drink or eat. It is food for my spirit. It is my direct link to my inner truth and deepest needs. It is a place of comfort where I can commune with the little girl that was once me and remind her that (now) she is not alone with the "bad men," and where I can reassure the young adult me that her "NO!" was strong enough and clear enough.

My art, like myself, has transformed over the years. No longer do nightmarish images appear without warning. Instead, (as you can see) my work reflects my deep love for life and color, and my deep gratitude for the treasures that surround me every minute of each day. When I am painting I feel the most at peace, connected, and grounded. My favorite images are of hope and healing; thus, my favorite subjects to paint are children, women, trees, the sun, and the moon.
