I was a crime victim and dealt with the bitterness and anger that comes from being a crime victim at a time when there wasn’t much help for women or the victims of crime in general. One thing I remember specifically that I did not put in the essay was that during the rape, my whole life flashed before me. I was surprised that I lived through it. I still have issues with my throat from his attempt to strangle me. This is my experience of learning to trust men again.
