Serving the greater Morrison County area, Great River Arts provides residents a variety of artistic experiences from live theater and music performances to visual art exhibits, as well as art classes for youth and adults. With a mission to enrich lives through the arts, the nonprofit organization is a mainstay for the community.
Fine artist and musician Matthew Duckett, who serves as Great River Arts' education and exhibitions coordinator, is passionately involved in fostering arts and education in the central part of the state. With the support of an Arts Board Community Arts Education Support grant, Great River Arts provides ongoing, quality arts education opportunities and services, and through that support, Great Rivers Arts has collaborated with over 90 artists annually–impacting more than 2,100 students through arts education programming.
This exhibit features two artworks by Duckett, oil on wood pieces that explore traditional lifestyles and musical subcultures: The Fiddlemaker and The Turn.
