$6,000; Laurie Carlos (director, playwright, and multidisciplinary performer) and Chamindika Wanduragala (visual artist) will collaborate with 3 Legged Race to create an evening-length dance-theater piece titled Marion’s Terrible Time of Joy

Ghanaian Association of Minnesota, Minneapolis
$6,000; Francis Kofi (drummer and dancer) will collaborate with the Ghanaian Association of Minnesota to teach various dances, cultural drumming, and music to the youth of this community. The collaboration will culminate in a performance to be presented at the “Taste of Ghana” event.

Charmin M. Hill, Minneapolis
$6,000; Charmin Hill will collaborate with Ragamala Music and Dance Theater (a performing company rooted in Bharatanatyam, the ancient classical dance of southern India), to celebrate the life of jazz legend Billie Holiday

Mizna, Minneapolis
$6,000; Dipankar Mukherjee (director) and Juliana Pegues (playwright) will collaborate with Mizna to create and present an interdisciplinary play, With Love from Ramallah

Pangea World Theater, Minneapolis
$6,000; Pangea World Theater will work with playwright Dwight Hobbes to develop and present SHELTER, a play about homelessness, in its premiere production

The SteppingStone Theatre, Saint Paul
$6,000; Jerrie Steele (playwright, composer, lyricist, and storyteller) will collaborate with SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development to write and participate in the production of a new play for youth, River of Grass: A Child’s Journey to Freedom in the Everglades
