residency that combines traditional drumming techniques with
a sense of cultural awareness and appreciation.

Elementary School, Fergus Falls
$2,500; Musicians Joan Griffith and Ruth MacKenzie will conduct
a jazz residency on observations from the past with third
and fourth grade students at Cleveland Elementary.
Dassel
Cokato High School, Cokato
$1,673; Visual artist James Mondloch will work with high school
students to teach professional techniques in watercolor.
Fertile-Beltrami
Public School, Fertile
$1,800; Writer Florence Dacey will work with middle and high
school students to create and share original poetry.
Folwell
Elementary School, Rochester
$2,500; Storyteller Sean Brown will conduct a residency with
fourth and fifth grade students on helping them develop creative
language arts talents.

$2,250; Musician Leo Lara will conduct a residency focused
on Latin American folklore, history, and culture.

$2,500; Writer Florence Dacey will lead a creative writing
residency on the theme of "pioneer days" for fourth
grade students.

Prairie CAPP, Lester Prairie
$2,104; Writer Florence Dacey will conduct a residency with
ninth and eleventh grade students to explore their heritage
through creative writing.

Public Schools, Roseau
$1,796; Mike Hazard will conduct a residency with high school
students, focusing on the creation of video art.

East Elementary, Arlington
$2,500; Folk dance artist Terrence Smith will conduct a residency
for third and fourth grade students at Sibley East and Gaylord
