$4,000; Artists Julie Kastigar, Esther Ouray, Joan Griffith, Ruth MacKenzie, and T. Mychael Rambo will conduct a residency focused on integrating quality arts instruction into “How We Express Ourselves” inquiry units.

Capitol Hill Magnet School, Saint Paul
$4,087; Joko and Tri Sutrisno will conduct a residency on Indonesian music, dance, and puppetry with a core group of sixth graders and exposure groups of grades 1-5.

Centerpoint Elementary, White Bear Lake
$2,594; Artist T. Mychael Rambo will conduct a residency supporting the theme “How We Express Ourselves” focusing on teaching students to express themselves through writing and creative dramatics.

Dassel Cokato Area Learning Center, Cokato
$5,614; Video artist Usry Alleyne will conduct a residency tailored to the context of community and the school environment for at-risk Area Learning Center high school students.

Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource School, Crystal
$4,490; Gamelan musican Joko Sutrisno and dance choreographer Tri Sutrisno will conduct a residency focused on creating a stage performance of student-authored plays.

J. J. Hill Montessori Magnet School, Saint Paul
$3,000; Artist Ross Sutter will conduct a dance residency using traditional folk dance to help students create a peace-themed dance in each classroom.

Peter Hobart Primary Center, Saint Louis Park
$5,525; Artist Timothy Hasenstein will conduct a collage-making residency.

Kelliher Public Schools, Kelliher
$4,940; Media artist Kris Sorensen will conduct a residency with elementary and middle level students that focuses on digital imagery and video production.

Kenny Community School, Minneapolis
$4,885; Puppeteer Margo McCreary, composer Ross Sutter, and ceramist Susan Warner will build upon the environmental focus of the school and the garden themed work of prior years residencies.

Lakeview Elementary, Cottonwood
$2,800; Poet Florence Dacey will conduct a residency on pioneer life focused on poetry and writing skills.

L'Etoile du Nord French Immersion School, Saint Paul
$5,172; Artists Yer Yang and Tou Saiko Lee will explore the school-wide essential questions, “Who am I? Who are we?” in and through visual art and spoken word.

Linwood A+ Elementary, Saint Paul
$7,050 Artists Goa Hong, Joko Sutrisno, Ranee Ramaswamy, Rhonda Lund, and Barry Kleider will work with teachers to plan and conduct an all-school residency project on the “Arts and Culture of Asia: A Tapestry of Traditions.”

Mississippi Creative Arts School, Saint Paul
$5,600; Artist Maria Olofsdotter will conduct a residency focused on animal habitats and world cultures through maskmaking for second grade, and folktale writing, publishing, and performance for third grade.

New City School, Minneapolis
$3,750; Visual and literary artist Marie Olofsdotter will conduct a residency focused on poetry, bookmaking, and the power of autobiography as a genre.

Oltman Junior High School, Saint Paul Park
$3,950; Artist Marilyn Lindstrom will lead a “Mosaic as Public Art” residency, in which students will design and create a permanent public art mosaic based on the theme “Building A Shared Vision.”

Plymouth Christian Youth Center, Minneapolis
$3,815; Performance artist Kimberly Morgan will conduct a performance arts and spoken word residency focused on culture and identity for North Minneapolis alternative high school students.

Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, Saint Paul
$12,890, Master dance artists Joe Chvala and Ranee Ramaswamy will work with SPCPA dance students to choreograph two 8-10 minute pieces and to explore the historical and cultural underpinnings of their unique dance genres.

Sanford Middle School, Minneapolis
$3,000; Theater artist Rhonda Lund will conduct a residency with the Team 8 Social Studies teachers and students focusing on creating and producing a performance based on events and ideas in post-Civil War American history.

Stevens Elementary, Dawson
$13,080; Artists Susan Armington, Rhonda Lund, Steven Nesheim, and Ross Sutter will conduct residencies in the areas of visual arts, music, and theater.

Turtle Lake Elementary, Shoreview
$3,800; Artist Sowah Mensah will conduct a residency teaching African music and culture.

Viking Elementary, Pelican Rapids
$1,225; Media artist Mike Hazard will work with elementary students to produce a video exploring the question, “Where IS the world IN Pelican Rapids?”

Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary, Wadena
$1,450; Artist Marie Olofsdotter will work with third grade students researching their roots and creating a book to record their present and future findings about various cultures and their visual symbols.

World Cultures and Languages Magnet School, Saint Paul
$2,411; Artists Marcia McEachron and Mike Hazard will each conduct a residency focused on a project around cultural roots.
