Cultural Community Partnership grants are designed to enhance the careers of individual artists of color.
Artists can apply for grants to help support a collaborative project with another Minnesota artist of color or a Minnesota nonprofit organization.

Diop, Papa, Minneapolis | $ 8000 | Papa Diop, using his African traditions, will teach Saabar and Djembe drumming to build up community strength and health for adults and youth in the low income housing program of the Emerge Village. |
Flores, Mariano, Minneapolis | $ 8000 | Mariano Flores will form his own Latin music quartet, augment his percussion and computer gear, and through investments in marketing and promotion greatly elevate his profile as a professional drummer based in Minnesota. The Latin music showcase will be produced and promoted by collaborator Misplaced Music. |

Kapil, Aditi, Minneapolis | $ 8000 | Aditi Brennan Kapil will develop a trilogy of plays based on the Hindu Trinity for production at Mixed Blood Theatre. |
Katha Dance Theatre, Crystal | $ 8000 | Blues and Gospel musician J.D. Steele will compose an original opera titled, Karna Kunti Sambad, for Katha Dance Theatre, and present a work in progress showcase to the general public during the fall of 2012. |
Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Saint Paul | $ 8000 | Ordway Center for the Performing Arts will commission Sam Butler, Jr. to complete and mount a concert performance of the music for CANTATA, a semi-autobiographical gospel blues opera. |
Petrus, Junauda, Minneapolis | $ 8000 | Junauda Petrus will train in aerial arts and produce a work-in-progres piece in collaboration with Frank Theatre Company. |
Silva dos Santos, Marciano, Shoreview | $ 8000 | Marciano Silva dos Santos and Timothy Bery will create a contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance solo and original percussion composition to perform the work at the Ritz Theater in Minneapolis. |

SteppingStone Theatre, Saint Paul | $ 8000 | Playwright Christina Ham will create a musical for young audiences to be produced at SteppingStone Theatre in Saint Paul, based on the story of the first African-American student to integrate a New Orleans elementary school in 1960. |
Ping, Wang, Saint Paul | $ 8000 | Wang Ping will use her poetry to create, Kinship of Rivers, a multidisciplinary event that draws artists, poets, and participants from the river communities of the Mississippi and Yangtze rivers, at the Soap Factory, in Minneapolis. |
