Creative Support for Organizations

Creative Support for Organizations is designed to help arts organizations, and nonarts organizations that regularly offer arts programming as an integral part of their mission, adapt to the changing environment caused by the global pandemic. Grantees will be able to use funds to support people and activities that will be needed to stay relevant and connected to audiences, participants, students, or communities now and in the future. The intent of this grant program is to help maintain the financial sustainability and long-term viability of organizations that offer valuable arts programming for Minnesotans.

Appetite For Change will produce a series of new music videos to spread the message of health, wealth, and social change across our communities. At least one of these videos will highlight youth resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Armory Arts & Events Center will secure a Lead for Minnesota Fellow to advance as a regional center for arts.
Art of the Lakes, Battle Lake $  15,000
Art of the Lakes will create an outdoor "festival of the arts" over the course of six summer weekends combining a plein air competition for Minnesota artists and artists workshop series.

Art of the Rural will provide community focused arts programming in Winona and foster rural urban exchange between artists and communities.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities will connect young Minnesotans to the arts through virtual arts learning featuring Minnesota teaching artists. Arts programming will be offered in partnership with community based organizations that serve youth and families.

The Bird Island Cultural Centre will provide month-long art exhibitions of Minnesota artists, remote interactive learning, streaming, and professionally filmed tutorials.
Black Storytellers Alliance, Minneapolis $  15,000
Black Storytellers Alliance will host twelve weekly virtual storytelling classes that connect, teach, and offer intrinsic healing for the traumatic effects of systemic racism, COVID-19, and the dangers of pandemic fatigue within our community.

The Cowles Center's Creations program will work with five metro high schools to facilitate virtual dance instruction led by skilled teaching artists, where students learn new dance forms, choreograph and record a dance, and share it with peers.

The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra is launching a virtual season with smaller chamber orchestra works as it returns to performances under state guidelines.

Eagan Art House will restore participation levels from 2020 decreases, and activate new neighborhood outreach programs for Eagan's underserved populations.
