Artist Initiative Grants

This pilot program supports and assists artists at various stages in their careers. It encourages artistic development, nurtures artistic creativity, and recognizes the contributions individual artists make to the creative environment of the state of Minnesota.

Grants will be awarded for career building and for the creative development of artists. Some artists may choose to request funds to create new work, but that isn't a requirement of the program.

The Arts Board alternates disciplines eligible to apply from year to year. Music, photography, media arts/new media, poetry, and prose applications will be accepted during this grant round (fiscal year 2010). Dance, theater, and two- and three-dimensional visual arts grants were awarded last year (fiscal year 2009).

Grant range: $2,000 - $6,000

Artist Grant Information Sessions

Advisory panel review meetings
A panel of advisors reviews each application. The review meetings are open to the public; applicants are encouraged to attend and listen to the discussion.

	FY 2010 Artist Initiative grant application and instructions Applicants may complete this version of the application using Adobe Reader (see directions below,) or may print out and complete the PDF version of the application by hand or with a typewriter.
Fill-in Forms Information
	This fill-in PDF form uses the features provide with Adobe Acrobat products. To view, complete, print, and save this fill-in PDF form, you'll need to have the freely available Adobe Reader software installed on your computer. Version 7.1 or later of Adobe Reader is required. Fill-in forms with the ability to save locally will generate a dialog/message box when opened within Adobe Reader. If you are using Adobe Reader 7.1 or later, the dialog box will indicate that document rights have been applied to the PDF file and you can save the completed fill-in form. If you are using a version of Adobe Reader prior to Version 7.05, the dialog box will indicate that some features of the document will not operate and you will be prompted to obtain a newer version of Adobe Reader.
