Call for Entries The Art
of Recovery
Minnesotans who have been victims of crime and express their
experiences through artistic media are invited to submit work.
Submitted work may include drawing, printmaking, painting, photography,
video, or mixed media. Persons interested should submit six
to nine slides or photographs of their work and an artist’s
statement not to exceed 500 words. The statement may address
how the submission(s) reflect the artist’s experience
and/or recovery from a crime. Entry submission deadline
is 4:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005.
The Minnesota Department
of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs and Minnesota
State Arts
Board will co-sponsor an art exhibit to heighten public awareness
about crime victims and their rights, and to commemorate National
Crime Victims' Rights Week, April 10 – 16, 2005. The exhibit
will open April 11, remain on display in the Arts Board office
gallery through May 31, and be part of the spring Saint
Paul Art Crawl in April.

Individuals whose work is selected, and who live in the seven-county
metro area, will be responsible for dropping off artwork and
retrieving it following the exhibit. Individuals living outside
the seven-county metro area will be responsible for shipping
their artwork to the Arts Board; artwork will be returned
postage-paid.
